Being made for Nintendo’s new Wii U, as well as PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Colonial Marines has a gilt-edged opportunity to turn the Wii U’s tablet controller into a film-mimicking, alien-tracking radar screen.
Work on Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has been going on since 2006, and even before that as a canceled PlayStation 2 title for a different developer and publisher.
In the meantime, Colonial Marines’ current studio Gearbox Software has released Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, Borderlands, and Duke Nukem Forever — a game which was first announced in 1997 by previous custodian 3D Realms.
By moving to February 2013, the Aliens game avoids a potentially embarassing clash with Gearbox’s other project, the highly anticipated Borderlands 2, which is due September 2012 but published by 2K Games.
Instead, it hunkers down a fortnight away from another of this fall’s delayed blockbusters, BioShock Infinite.

The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims in activities and relationships in a similar manner to real life. The gameplay is open-ended and indefinite. Sim houses and neighborhoods are entirely in one continuous map. The developers stated, "What you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within." One of the biggest changes to the franchise is the use of rabbit-holes. Sims aren't allowed to go inside the majority of city buildings; instead, they simply disappear inside for a certain amount of time—a feature known in video games as a rabbit-hole—while the player is given several choices on what happens inside using a text-based notification.
The Sims 2 used a reward system called Wants and Fears. This is replaced with a new system called Wishes in The Sims 3. Fulfilling a Sim's wish contributes to the Sim's Lifetime Happiness score and mood. Some wishes, such as "Go to the Park", may add little points to their lifetime happiness while "Have A Baby Boy" may add thousands of points. In The Sims 2, Wants and Fears also contributed to a Sim's "Aspiration" meter, roughly analogous to current self-esteem.

The open world game debuts a new trailer, a new set of moves, and a new main character.
Take an open world, insert a guy with fantastic powers, then begin to break stuff. Such was the premise of the original Prototype game, and its predecessor seems to be following the same strategy. Sure, there is a huge plot about conspiracies and revenge, but at its heart, the Prototype games are there for you to become more powerful and then be set loose on the streets of New York to break stuff.
The game shows off one major feature of the sequel—namely that the protagonist is no longer Alex Mercer, but is instead Sgt. James Heller, a man that blames Mercer for his powers and the problems they caused.
The original game followed Mercer as he attempted to piece together his life after waking up in a morgue with no memories and a strange set of shape shifting abilities that allowed him to consume people to gain their memories. How exactly Mercer fits into the new game, and why Heller blames him for his condition, are both unclear.

The story is a mess, and sadly there's no online support for multiplayer in the PC version, but come here looking for 10 to 12 hours of satisfying combat and you won't be disappointed.
The single-player game starts off promisingly with a moody black-and-white prologue mission set some 20 years before the events of the other nine levels. Getting comfortable with the controls used for gunplay and for getting in and out of cover should take you no time at all, and it won't take you long to realize that the enemies you're facing are smart enough to employ a lot of the same tactics that you do in the interest of self-preservation. The story gets underway with a bang as well--a few bangs, actually--but as you progress through the game, the story rarely feels like it's moving along with you. Characters come and go without giving you any reason to care about them, you travel between locations killing everything that moves without really knowing why, and new abilities are frequently added to your formidable arsenal without explanation. Dark Sector's lack of good storytelling shouldn't hamper your enjoyment of the game too much because cutscenes are infrequent and brief. Nonetheless, it's unfortunate that a protagonist as fun to play as Hayden doesn't have a great narrative to back him up.

Being made for Nintendo’s new Wii U, as well as PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Colonial Marines has a gilt-edged opportunity to turn the Wii U’s tablet controller into a film-mimicking, alien-tracking radar screen.
Work on Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has been going on since 2006, and even before that as a canceled PlayStation 2 title for a different developer and publisher.
In the meantime, Colonial Marines’ current studio Gearbox Software has released Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, Borderlands, and Duke Nukem Forever — a game which was first announced in 1997 by previous custodian 3D Realms.
By moving to February 2013, the Aliens game avoids a potentially embarassing clash with Gearbox’s other project, the highly anticipated Borderlands 2, which is due September 2012 but published by 2K Games.
Instead, it hunkers down a fortnight away from another of this fall’s delayed blockbusters, BioShock Infinite.

Hard Reset:Extended Edition is a first-person shooter exclusively for Microsoft Windows, from Flying Wild Hog, a Polish developer that is made up from members of the team behind Painkiller (People Can Fly), and former developers from CD Projekt Red and City Interactive.The game features a cyberpunk plot. It draws inspiration from the works of William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Philip K. Dick (especially Blade Runner).
Hard Reset is modeled on "old school" video games such as Quake and Unreal,
which results in more straightforward gameplay than most modern
first-person shooters. The various stages have secret areas with hidden
pick ups such as health and ammunition. The environments are designed
similarly, as there are explosive barrels and various vending machines
outfitted with electro-shock anti-vandalism defenses, that can trigger splash damage
by being shot at, scattered throughout the levels, which the player can
use by luring enemies near them. The game lacks a multiplayer mode,
which was a chief criticism.
Unlike most old school first-person shooters, which feature a liberal
variety of guns and throwable weapons that can be stored in a magic satchel-like inventory, Hard Reset
features only two weapons, the CLN Modular Assault Rifle, and the
EEF-21 Plasma Rifle. Both weapons have unlockable firing modes, the
Modular Assault Rifle including the option to strap add-ons such as grenade and rocket launchers, and the plasma rifle allowing railguns and stasis modules.

The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims in activities and relationships in a similar manner to real life. The gameplay is open-ended and indefinite. Sim houses and neighborhoods are entirely in one continuous map. The developers stated, "What you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within." One of the biggest changes to the franchise is the use of rabbit-holes. Sims aren't allowed to go inside the majority of city buildings; instead, they simply disappear inside for a certain amount of time—a feature known in video games as a rabbit-hole—while the player is given several choices on what happens inside using a text-based notification.
The Sims 2 used a reward system called Wants and Fears. This is replaced with a new system called Wishes in The Sims 3. Fulfilling a Sim's wish contributes to the Sim's Lifetime Happiness score and mood. Some wishes, such as "Go to the Park", may add little points to their lifetime happiness while "Have A Baby Boy" may add thousands of points. In The Sims 2, Wants and Fears also contributed to a Sim's "Aspiration" meter, roughly analogous to current self-esteem.

Review:
The open world game debuts a new trailer, a new set of moves, and a new main character.
Take an open world, insert a guy with fantastic powers, then begin to break stuff. Such was the premise of the original Prototype game, and its predecessor seems to be following the same strategy. Sure, there is a huge plot about conspiracies and revenge, but at its heart, the Prototype games are there for you to become more powerful and then be set loose on the streets of New York to break stuff.
The game shows off one major feature of the sequel—namely that the protagonist is no longer Alex Mercer, but is instead Sgt. James Heller, a man that blames Mercer for his powers and the problems they caused.
The original game followed Mercer as he attempted to piece together his life after waking up in a morgue with no memories and a strange set of shape shifting abilities that allowed him to consume people to gain their memories. How exactly Mercer fits into the new game, and why Heller blames him for his condition, are both unclear.
